AI connector
Reelday in Claude and ChatGPT
Last updated 26 October 2026
Reelday's AI editor turns your own clips into reels. The connector lets the AI app you already use read those reels, so you can ask about them in plain words: what the editor changed, how each one scored, which captions to try. It reads your own Reelday account only, after you approve it once.
Before you connect
- A Reelday account with an active plan: see pricing. Sign-in is by email code at app.reelday.io.
- At least one reel made in Reelday, so there is something to read.
- Instagram is optional. The results tools return numbers only once an Instagram account is connected in Reelday.
Connect in Claude
- Add Reelday to Claude. Claude opens Add custom connector with the name and address filled in; check them and click Add. (By hand: Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, address
https://api.reelday.io/mcp.) - Click Connect next to Reelday.
- Sign in to Reelday with your email code and click Allow on the screen that shows what Claude may see.
In the Reelday app, Settings → Connect your AI → Add to Claude opens the same filled-in form.
Connect in ChatGPT
Needs ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, on the web.
- In ChatGPT, click Plugins in the left sidebar, then + → Add custom MCP server. (Not there? Turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login.)
- Name it Reelday and paste
https://api.reelday.io/mcpas the Server URL. - Authentication: OAuth. Click I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
- Open the Reelday plugin and install it: sign in to Reelday and click Allow.
- In a new chat, type @ and pick Reelday.
Other assistant apps
Any AI app that lets you add a connector (an MCP server) by its address can use https://api.reelday.io/mcp: add it there, sign in to Reelday and click Allow.
Things to ask
- "Which of my Reelday reels scored best, and what held the others back?"
- "What did the AI change on my last reel, and what did I switch off?"
- "Write three shorter captions for my newest reel, in the same language."
- "Which of my reels had a weak first 3 seconds?"
- With Instagram connected: "When are my followers online?" and "Which posted reels kept people watching longest?"
What it can read
- list_made_reels: the reels you made and haven't posted, with their caption, the line of text on screen, the music, each layer the AI added and whether it is on, your changes and the last score.
- get_reel: one reel in full, including its transcript and its score's 11 signals with a note each.
- get_account_overview, list_reels, get_best_times, get_audience, list_comments: your Instagram results, when an Instagram account is connected in Reelday.
- notify_me_when_instagram_opens: puts your account on the list for one email when connecting Instagram opens. It changes only that setting.
Apart from that one, every tool reads. One tool that changes something (a caption that isn't posted yet) exists only if you also approve changes on the consent screen; the default connection can't change anything. The connector never posts, never deletes, and never sees your clips, your email address or your Instagram password or token.
Disconnect
In Reelday, Settings → Connect your AI → Disconnect. Access stops at once. You can also remove Reelday from the AI app's connector settings.
